Sky's Valentines

Well, it seems as though our snow days at home are coming to an end. We made the most of the weekend. We actually got out of the house on Saturday and went to Fredericksburg for the afternoon. On Sunday, we spent our Valentines as a family. Skylar and I made Valentines for Daddy while we let him sleep in. Then we went outside and went sledding for what was probably the last time, seeing how it is raining outside now. It was fun while it lasted and Skylar and I have definitely enjoyed the time together. Tomorrow will be a tough day for both of us.

Skylar will be 15 months old on Wednesday and has her 15 month appointment on Thursday. She will inevitably get more shots, YUK, but we will also find out her growth. She is usually ahead of her mile stones, so I can't wait to see what the doctor says this time. She has been eating more and more "big people" food. She loves spaghetti and had chicken and dumplings tonight. She is also enjoying multi-grain Cheerios for breakfast along with strawberries and cream oatmeal. Anything we are eating, she wants to try. Her growth amazes us and I feel so blessed to be able to witness such a miracle in our lives.

Momma, Wee-Wee

Skylar and I have been loving every minute of this fluke blizzard. She likes having me home and I like being home with her. Skylar called Isabella and they talked Sarah and I into getting snowed in together. I am not sure who was more excited, the mommies or the girls. We had a blast playing with toys and sledding in the yard. Today, Skylar brought me her snow boots and said "Momma, Wee-wee". I took the hint, dressed her and went out to play in the snow. We even let Chloe have a little fun as she chased us down the hill. Skylar LOVES the snow. She thinks it is hilarious to throw snow balls and say "crash, crash", especially when they are thrown at crazy Chloe who eats the snow like it is a bowl of food. Usually children are hot and irritated by having to get all bundled up in a snowsuit they can't move in, but not my little Sky Bear. I have never seen a child so patient and excited to get dressed to go out. She used to hate wearing her boots, now she knows if she is wearing them it must mean she is going out. I hope we get a decent amount of snow next year so we can have just as much fun (plus, I think her snowsuit will still fit, lol).

Snow Snow Snow

Skylar and I have been living it up with snow days. Mommy hasn't been to work, but one day this week and Skylar loves every minute. Nick Jr, toys, music and dancing have been the name of our game. Naptime has provided time for much needed house work/ organizing.
Today we ventured out to Fredericksburg with Grandma and Ma (we figured it would be the only chance to beat cabin fever for at least another week). Walmart and the grocery stores are swamped so we headed to the mall. IT WAS EMPTY! We caught an awesome sale at The Children's Place and with all our effort, hunted down the last pink snow suit in the entire area. We had a very interesting and entertaining lunch (as it always is with a 1 year old) at Cracker Barrel, then came home to relax and get ready for more snow.
Later this evening I will try to figure out this blog a little more (possibly with my techno savvy cousin Sheri) so that we can get some updated pictures up of Sky.
