We are finally all well again. Haven't had the chance to blog about much because I have been too busy working and taking care of a sick household. I had to leave work early one day because Skylar spiked a fever and turns out she had strep. I took her right to the doctor. It wasn't a high fever, but she was very lethargic and acting unusual. She was puking by evening and didn't take well to the antibiotic. Because she couldn't keep it down I had to get another and that was another day without meds, she wasn't totally herself for about two weeks. In that time we all got it. Here are a few pictures of my pitiful angel and one where she felt well enough for a bit to play dress up with Chloe.

Skylar is growing and maturing so much. She is talking like a big girl and repeats everything you say...everything, right down to calling us by our first names because she hears us do it. She has developed quite the sense of humor over the last few weeks. She likes to tease us and be a funny girl. She has been practicing her ABC's and can sing most of the song. We have also been practicing phonics and she loves to make the sounds of her letters. Her favorite phrases now are "here, wanna pway", "I love you", and "what ya doing Phil/Tina?", and "I want...".
She is quite the climber and her sturdy red playschool chair is my enemy right now. She will drag that thing anywhere and use it to get up on anything...even when I am cooking. She just wants to help, but it scares me to death. She loves to help me with the laundry. It takes a little longer, but as I hand her piece by piece to put into the dryer I smile as I think of the sense of responsibility I am instilling. Hey, one day she won't want to do it so why not take advantage of it now. She is doing much better at cleaning up her toys, we still help. She always says "thank you", but please is a work in progress. She tells us what she wants by saying "Mommy/Daddy I want ______________________", so we are trying to get her to add please to the end of it. Usually it is "I want chocolate" because she has become quite the fiend ever since I brought her hershey drops. She sounds like Veruca Salt, hence why the "please" is needed, lol.

My sister Charity stayed the weekend a couple of weeks ago and we made darling valentine cards. I traced Sky's hand into the "I love you sign", used it as a stencil and made cards with them. As soon as you opened them her little sign popped out. I got the idea from Disney Family Magazine and put my own twist on it...as usual. We had fun making cupcakes and decorating cards. Skylar's little cousin Hannah had her first birthday party the same day of our Valentine fun. Sky didn't nap much and she had such a great day that she started falling asleep in the cards, lol.
She was absolutley adorable for Valentines Day. She saw Daddy preparing presents so when I walked in the door she excitedly squealed "Happy Birthday Mommy". It was the cutest thing ever. We don't do alot for eachother on Valentines Day, a card and some chocolate or a movie, but we did get her gifts. Not a lot, but we did them up in pretty bags so she was super excited. She got a stuffed Big Bird, a Lauri Berkner music video, and Abby in Wonderland. She was so ecstatic that it called for her voice to be a high pitched squeel in everything she said for about an hour. You better believe she watched both of those videos and one of them several times. We finally got her to say Happy Valentines Day...it comes out more like "Happy Bowentimes Day" and she is still saying it today. She still asks for Santa on a regular so Valentines may last until St. Patrick's Day when I give her another holiday to celbrate.
