Well I am extremely behind on my blogging, sorry. The end of a school year is an extremely busy time for a teacher. My students did very well on their SOLs, 80.5% of my students passed and 89.9% of the entire 6th grade passed. It was a good year for our Language Arts team. I accepted a long awaited transfer to the Elementary School and will be teaching 5th grade next year. As soon as school was out, Phil went into surgery for his umbilical hernia. He is recovering well and has three more weeks before he can swim and pick up his baby girl. She is keeping a calendar and is counting down. We have been doing some serious work around the house. In May we planted a flower bed, which the deer have since completely ruined. $200 down the drain; however some of the plants are perennials and recovering nicely.

Skylar and I have de-cluttered the house, with the exception of one room- next weeks project, and made several trips to local thrift store to drop off donations. Carpets have been cleaned, Skylar's will soon be replaced, and I have some patching and painting to do on our walls thanks to Storm kitty.

Aside from all of the busy work we have been having a little bit of fun. We purchased Kings Dominion passes this year and have gone twice so far. Skylar really enjoys the Peanut Gang. We have been swimming once, but mostly in her little pool here in the yard. She is participating in her first summer reading program and her bingo card is almost full. She loves to read! We take her to the library weekly to get new books.

We are working on potty training. She is very proud of her Dora potty seat, will sometimes go in her little potty on her own accord if left without a pull-up on. She loves jelly bellies so they are her incentive. She gets two every time she goes and a sticker on her Dora potty chart.

We took Skylar to see fireworks for the first time this 4th of July and she loved every minute of it. She especially enjoyed sitting in the grass watching with her big cousin Paige.

We are taking her to her first movie this Friday. She is very excited about the opening of "The Pooh Movie" and has a special Piglet dress to wear...her request. It is impossible to find just Piglet, but I am pretty proud of what I was able to put together. I found a sundress with Piglet colors and an iron on patch of Piglet. We have many more adventures planned for our summer so stay tuned.
