Well, I have been wanting to blog for a while, but I haven't had the time. Any spare time has been sleep time, lol. There hasn't been a lot of that either. This year I am making a huge transition from teaching middle school to elementary school. I love it! It is a lot more work because I am teaching Language Arts and Science this year, but it is rewarding. I also headed up a charity event to raise money for Placid Bay Estates, which is my childhood neighborhood. It was a lot of work and I hoped to set a good example for Skylar by helping others in need.

Outside of all that we have been pretty busy as a family. We are preparing to move and hoping to be completely moved in with Grandma (Beth) by the second week in November. Skylar has picked out a princess theme for her new room and is very excited. September 24th was Mommy-Daughter Day. Skylar and I joined Aunt Sarah and Bella, Aunt Sheri and Audrey for Disney on Ice's Dare to Dream. It was an amazing show! The girls dressed as their favorite princess and had a wonderful time. They were enthralled from start to finish. This past Sunday Aunt Sarah and Bella joined us for Kings Dominion's Howl-o-fest. No, I did not take Skylar to Fear Fest. Although, she is quite fond of zombies and monsters (Her father's influence) I think she is a bit young for that. Kings Dominion put on a great time in kidsville. The characters were dressed for halloween and we got treasure maps and prizes.

Aunt Krista just bought a house in Spotsylvania so Skylar is now going to Miss Cami's twice a week. Miss Cami is a long time friend of both my and Phil's family, so we were delighted when we found out she was running a program from home. I grew up with her daughter and spent plenty of time in her home and I worked with her at a daycare when I was in college. Skylar loves it there. Cami runs a preschool program and Skylar has been learning how to mix colors and make patterns.

Sky has grown so much and I can't believe her 3rd birthday is right around the corner. She has requested a Wizard of Oz party so I am trying to put that together. She has changed her mind about what she wants to be for Halloween on almost a daily basis. Fortunately we have had a few festive activites that she has been able to costume up for and hasn't really had to choose just one. We are planning a trip to the pumpkin patch in the near future. She will be trick-or-treating for her first time this year, and we have decided to take her to Aunt Theresa's where she and Bella will walk the neighborhood we know and are comfortable with. Aunt TT is delighted to have the princesses. I will keep the updates coming, sorry they aren't as often as they once were, but hey what can I say. I now know what the term "busy mom" really means. Until next time...Oh, happy breast cancer awareness month! Do something to support the cause!
