Well, sorry it has been so long. Time really got away from me. Adjusting to a new job and home this year have really taken up alot of time. Skylar is doing well and continuously growing. She sounds and acts like such a big girl. We hold full conversations and have complete dialogues in imagination play. She started dance class in January. She is in the same class as her cousin Audrey and really enjoys it. In March, Skylar became a big cousin to my beautiful niece Ni'auna Alexis-Marie Miller. She is such a little mommy and enjoys ever minute with Ni'auna. She is so gentle and sweet with her. I was hoping this would curve her wanting a sister for a bit, but now she wants a baby for her house...we have regular visits with Ni'auna. Skylar will make a great big sister one day.

The first day of Easter break she was eating some mixed nuts and had a horrible reaction, which landed us in the ER. She thought the ambulance ride was fun, but her reaction was one step below her throat closing. We eliminated all nut products until we could get her into an allergist. We went in on Monday and found out she is allergic to all tree nuts. Her reaction was serious enough to warrent an epipin, but we didn't have one because we didn't know about the allergy. Now they are all over the place, we all know how to use them, and Skylar will very soon be wearing a medic bracelet listing her allergies. It is a bit scary to think about and a whole new way of living, but we are teaching her all about her allergy and how to avoid a reaction. She knows she can't have nuts, and peanuts are the only one she can have. She also knows not to share food with other children unless we or Ms. Cami (preschool teacher)say it is ok. She talks about her experience quite often and tells us she feels better, but "no more nuts on my face". She definitely brings a little levity to the situation.

Our Easter was good. We spent it in Round Hill, VA with Phil's family. We have traditionally been spending Easter with his sister and this year our nephew was baptised on Easter Eve and Phil and I are his God Parents. It was a two hour service and Skylar behaved amazingly. She had a lot of questions, but she was not disrespectful or loud at all. I was extremely proud. The end of spring break brought a bitter depart for Skylar and I, but we are now counting down until summer vacation...8 more weeks!
