Concussion & Fun in the sun

Last Friday I was on my way to my first Girl's night out in about 3 years and Skylar gave me a concussion, lol. Well, she was jumping on Mommy's bed and bounced back. Instead of her head hitting the wall it hit mine with the force of 23 lbs behind it, slamming my head into the wall. I got an instant headache, took some Excedrin and headed out for dinner and a movie with Devon. Boy we were a pair; she had pneumonia and I couldn't see straight...dizzy all night, and Devon ended up having to drive my car home because I was too sick. I was still dizzy the next morning so I called the nurse line at my insurance company and ended up in the ER due to signs of a concussion. Turns out I did have a mild concussion and needed a few days rest. Go figure! Really didn't think I hit my head that hard. For what it was worth, we saw "Letters to Juliet" and even though I felt like I was watching through grandma's bifocals, it was a really cute movie. Total chick flick, my kind of movie. Hopefully our next night out will be more successful.

This weekend we had a fun loving, family filled weekend. We went to the vow renewal and reception of a couple of friends, but Skylar had other plans. She was in a very playful, busy-body mood so we went home and had fun. Aunt Sarah and cousin Isabella were home from NC for the weekend, so we had a family cookout and swimming at Aunt Cathy and Uncle Tim's. Aunt Sheri, Uncle Chris and Audrey were there too. It is always fun getting all three girls together. It was Skylar's first time in the pool this year and she loved it even more than last. I have a little fish on my hands; shes was already dog paddling, coincidence?

Maybe, but I encouraged it. Sunday, we had a play date will Lillian Gallagher whom we haven't seen in about a year. She has gotten so big! The rest of the day we relaxed and spent time as a family, just the three of us. It was nice, we should do it more often.
