It Feels Like I'm falling for Fall

Well we have all been hit by the first bug of the year. We spent a great Saturday afternoon eating crabs with Sky's Pop with no symptoms at all. The next morning Skylar and I were running fevers and achy all over. My doctor told me the flu, but I am not so sure. Sky's flu test was negative. I was out of work for three days, and by the time I went back to work Phil had it. Once we started to feel a bit better we managed to make Daddy a birthday cake. Skylar enjoyed it completely and was totally wired from all of the icing. Phil was extremely exicted to have his first cake made by his princess, and Skylar went around trying to blow candles out for about an hour afterwards.

Now that we have all recovered we are enjoying the fall weather. Skylar continues to enjoy her nature walks. We don't have the greatest yard for a toddler so we have turned the back deck into her play ground, but she still insists on getting off and exploring.

This weekend we went to the Fall Festival in Montross where Skylar got to hang out with my child hood friend Marti(Tinky), and her family. The boys enjoyed her and are no doubt begging Mommy for a little sister. Dayton wanted to take Skylar home. Dayton and Zack also introduced Skylar to silly bands, which she is now a firm member of the craze. She totally loved the parade until the loud motorcycles came through. She also got to see some of my teacher friends who haven't seen her in months.

This weekend we are headed to the Markwith's for one last crab feast before the season ends. Truthfully, I haven't been able to sit and enjoy crabs since before I was pregnant. Maybe when she can sit and pick her own, lol. Oh well. Next weekend it is time to head to the pumpkin patch. I picked up a great magazine to help us make everyday foods look spooky so we can get into the Halloween spirit. It should be loads of fun.
