Continuing the fun

Last Wednesday we met my Grand mommy, Uncle Wayne & the girls at Kings Dominion. This time Skylar was able to get on many more rides because she had a partner mommy was sure wouldn't let her climb out.

Lilly & Savannah took turns riding with her and she even saw the "Charlie Brown Hoe Down" show, which she loved. I think Skylar enjoyed the car rides the most. She cried on the swings, but it was the first big ride without Mommy so we will try that again next time. She rode the mini-Berzerker (AKA Virginia Clipper) and was fine when it went up, but when it came back down that was another story. She was a big girl though, and she did not cry. She waited patiently for the lady to let her out, but she was definitely not up for a second round.

She really enjoyed cooling off under the Congo Sprinklers this time. We are headed back to Kings Dominion tomorrow & plan to spend some time in the water park.

Next week we are headed out to NC to see Aunt Sarah & Bella which should be a ton of fun. We plan to hit the beach at least one day we are there. Skylar & I have been trying to work on shapes. She seems a bit uninterested, but we try everyday & she knows what a circle is, but she would rather play with her blocks and tell me all the animals and their sounds that appear on them. I think I will try to make up mini lessons for grandma this year so we can keep up the good work. I aim to have her right on target or well ahead by the time she is ready for preschool.
On another note, I just finished a wonderful book called The Shack. It was passed to me by my Aunt Theresa. I was a little unsure of the tragedy it presents at first, but what a story behind it. WOW! Beth (Phil's Mom) read it before me, so I figured if she can read I can. I am so glad I did. Check it out at http://theshackbook.comand take a look at the link that says The Missy Project. I would love to see this turned into a movie.
